Following the recent launch and media interest in Chat-GPT and similar artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, this two-hour mini-symposium provides a whistle-stop tour for a non-expert audience wishing to learn more about the future potential for use of Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI in medical research, medical education and the NHS.

Speakers from Microsoft Research and King College London will join experts drawn from Imperial’s Faculties of Engineering and Medicine to present an overview of the opportunities and challenges. The symposium will conclude with an interactive panel/audience discussion and Q&A.

Prior expertise in large language models is not required, and whilst aimed chiefly at the Faculty of Medicine (both medics and non-medics), attendees from other faculties are also welcome.
