Sarah Essiflie-Quaye

We are having the second seminar of a new seminar series hosted by the School of Public Health (SPH) Diversity Group, aimed at showcasing topics relevant to equality, diversity, inclusion, and equity in research within and beyond SPH.

Join us for a Black History Month talk by Dr Sarah Essilfie-Quaye, presenting her recent review published in Wellcome Open Research. The session explores the deep-rooted structural and cultural barriers that contribute to the persistent absence of Black professors in UK academia. Drawing on sector-wide data and research-informed recommendations, Sarah will reflect with attendees how institutions can move beyond performative inclusion to create environments where Black scholars can truly thrive.

This event is available to attend both in-person and remotely. To attend online Please register via MS Teams.
