Join us for the launch of a new joint report from the Grantham Research Institute, CETEx, and the Centre for Economic Performance at LSE and the Grantham Institute at Imperial College London: Catalysing Climate Resilience: current strengths and future innovations. The report presents the findings of a study examining the extent to which climate change adaptation technologies—beyond their strategic importance for resilience—also represent promising areas for economic growth.

While the growth potential associated with climate change mitigation is well established, the economic opportunities linked to climate change adaptation have received far less attention. We hope this report will stimulate greater exploration of how innovation for climate resilience can be supported and how it might contribute to the UK’s future growth.

The UK is particularly well positioned to lead in this space, given its existing strengths in sectors such as life sciences, engineering and financial services. The study draws on multiple evidence sources—including patent analysis, market assessment and case studies—to evaluate UK capabilities and identify adaptation-related sectors with strong potential for growth.

The format will include a presentation of the research findings and a panel discussion with speakers from academia and industry.
