Countdown to COP31: Accelerating Action in a World of Extremes

In a world facing intensifying climate impacts, geopolitical uncertainty, and growing pressures on energy systems and economies, the need for collective action on climate change is more pressing now than ever. Devastating wildfires, droughts, and other extreme weather events are putting the spotlight on the need for stronger adaptation action and efforts to limit global temperature rise, while there is growing recognition of the opportunities that a clean economy can offer in terms of enhanced energy security and prosperity. Yet, action to date falls short.

​Against this backdrop, COP31 provides a crucial opportunity to double down on international cooperation on climate and build momentum behind the implementation of the Paris Agreement. It offers a chance to reinforce the global commitment to a safer, more resilient and prosperous future, while advancing real world climate solutions that support energy security, economic stability and sustainable development.

​As we count down to COP31, this event will bring together political leaders, climate negotiators, policy experts, business leaders and scientists to consider the priorities for stronger climate action at the upcoming UN climate conference and beyond.

The event will feature a panel debate followed by a networking reception, providing an opportunity for further discussions on climate action.
