About the speaker
Gabriele Albertini is Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham. His research combines computational, experimental, and data-driven approaches to friction and fracture mechanics, focusing on high-strain-rate and non-equilibrium dynamics of cracks and slip pulses. He completed his PhD at Cornell University in 2021, including research visits at ETH Zürich and Sorbonne Université. He was subsequently awarded a Swiss National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University, where he studied the tunability of frictional interfaces
