A perspective projection of a dodecahedral tessellation in H3. Four dodecahedra meet at each edge, and eight meet at each vertex, like the cubes of a cubic tessellation in E3.

Title: Blow-ups and Local Integrability

Speaker: Zhengyang Cui

Abstract: For which values of w is |y²-x³|⁻²ʷ integrable near the origin in ℂ²? I will answer this question by resolving the plane cusp y²=x³ and tracking how both the polynomial and the volume form change under each blow-up. The same calculation on a log resolution gives a formula for the critical exponent of an arbitrary complex hypersurface, called its log canonical threshold.
