FlyerThis will be the second UK Acoustics Network Summer School (UKANSS19). For up to date details, please see the event webpage.
The summer school will focus on machine learning for acoustics using the Python programming language. Participants will be immersed in Python and supervised in the application of machine learning.  It is recommended that participants have some familiarity with programming and undergraduate mathematics (namely least squares, linear regression, and calculus).
The learning approach will be a mix of lectures and hands on experience, and participants will be expected to bring their own laptops. There will be a series of exercises and challenges to work through.  Teaching material and guidance will be provided by experts on Python (Dr Prasun Ray) and machine learning in the field of acoustics (Dr Ramon Fuentes). There will also be seminars on the use of neural networks with application to signal processing (Prof. Nilesh Madhu).
A preliminary timetable is available here.
Members of the UK Acoustics Network who are not EPSRC-funded PhD students may apply for  a travel grant. The application form can be found in the resources section of the UKAN website.
