Designed for senior and board-level leaders, this programme equips you to transform your organisation’s approach to digital risk. As PRA and FCA regulations increase oversight and place accountability firmly at leadership level, and with the UK government recently urging businesses to strengthen their defences against AI-enabled cyber threats, the challenge is clear: enabling confident oversight of resilience and incident response, even where technical expertise at board level is limited. 
From compliance to capability, this course addresses what cyber resilience now demands, board-level ownership, integration with operational resilience, and clear regulatory alignment. You will develop a stronger, more holistic view of risk, enabling decisive action and sustained organisational resilience.

  1. Regulatory Expectations: Understanding PRA and FCA requirements for board-level cyber governance. Bank of England oversight frameworks and supervisory expectations. Board accountability under SM&CR and operational resilience rules.
  2. Topical Threats & Response Strategies: Current cyber threat landscape facing UK financial services. Building operational resilience and business continuity frameworks. Incident management protocols and board decision-making during crises.
  3. Cyber in an Interconnected Threat Landscape: Cyber risk sits within a wider, interconnected ecosystem.   A single incident can create cascading impacts across operations, third parties, and critical infrastructure such as energy and supply chains. Understanding these interconnections enables more effective, holistic responses.
  4. Are you resilient in a crisis: In a crisis, outcomes depend on the resilience of those in charge. Leaders and Board members must make critical decisions under pressure with limited information, while maintaining clarity and control. Building personal resilience enables confident leadership when it matters most.

Washington Ochieng

Director of the Centre for Active Resilience and Security (CARS)

Professor Washington Yotto Ochieng is the Director of the Centre for Active Resilience and Security (CARS) and lectures on the Master of Science (MSc) Programme in Security and Resilience. He is also the Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Chair in Positioning and Navigation Systems at Imperial College London. His research interests cover positioning, navigation and timing systems; infrastructure security and resilience; and trans-modal mobility and transport systems.

George Robinson

Special Adviser to BP, Chairman of BP Russian Investments Ltd and Senior Counselor at Cohen Group (USA)

Lord (George Islay MacNeill) Robertson is Special Adviser to BP, Chairman of BP Russian Investments Ltd and Senior Counselor at the Washington DC based Cohen Group (USA). He served as NATO Secretary General from 1999-2003, UK Defence Secretary from 1997-1999, and was Member of Parliament for Hamilton and Hamilton South from 1978-1999. Prior to government, he was Scottish Organiser with the GMB trade union and later held a number of senior Opposition roles. He was appointed Secretary of State for Defence in 1997 before becoming the 10th Secretary General of NATO and Chairman of the North Atlantic Council in 1999, when he was elevated to the House of Lords.Lord Robertson has received numerous honours, including appointment to the Privy Council, the US Presidential Medal of Freedom, the GCMG and the KT. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, holds fourteen honorary doctorates, and is Honorary Professor of Politics at the University of Stirling.
