HSR1 - ZEISS Lattice SIM 5
We are pleased to announce a new super-resolution structured illumination microscope will be coming to ICTEM in November 2026. We will be introducing a ZEISS Lattice SIM 5 super-resolution microscope on the Axio Observer 7 SR inverted stand to expand our super-resolution portfolio.
Lattice structured illumination achieves 60 nm lateral resolution for fast, gentle, multi-colour 3D super-resolution imaging of fixed and live specimens.
General specifications
- Axio Observer 7 SR RP – Inverted Research Microscope for Lattice SIM
- Definite Focus 3 hardware autofocus
- Motorised XY scanning stage: 130 × 100 mm travel, 0.1 µm resolution
- Z PIEZO WSB 500: 500 µm travel, 1 nm resolution
- AI Sample Finder with overview camera for rapid sample navigation
-
Stage-top incubation: temperature and CO₂ control
- Automated water immersion module with pipette
- Slide, dish, chamber slide and multiwell formats
Imaging modalities
The system operates in two structured illumination modes:
- Lattice SIM (super-resolution) – lattice-patterned illumination with linear and iterative reconstruction achieving 60 nm lateral resolution. Requires high-NA objectives (NA ≥ 1.2). Suitable for detailed structural imaging of fixed and live samples at sub-diffraction resolution in up to four colours.
- SIM Apotome (optical sectioning) – grid-projection structured illumination for optical sectioning at diffraction-limited resolution. Compatible with all objectives on the system, including lower-magnification air objectives. Provides confocal-like sectioning from widefield images with high speed and low phototoxicity.
