The Pathogen Epidemiology Review Group (PERG) is supporting the response to the Bundibugyo virus disease (BVD) outbreak through real-time analysis of epidemiological data. Working with international partners, the team is helping turn evolving outbreak data into actionable evidence to inform response efforts on the ground. By analysing transmission trends and key epidemiological parameters, PERG contributes to a clearer understanding of the outbreak and supports evidence-informed public health decision-making.

Estimation of the Ebola outbreak size in the DRC

Using data collated by PERG and stored in Epireview it was possible to rapidly compile existing evidence on Bundibugyo which enabled rapid modelling efforts published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases.
