More than 100 science journalists and media enthusiasts competed in 2013 Big Science Pub Quiz at Imperial College London.

A group of materials scientists and journalists beat nine other teams to become this year’s Big Science Pub Quiz champions.

The Casino Royale School of Mines team comprising academics from the Department of Materials and journalists from Physics World were this year’s champions.

Casino Royale School of Mines team member Dr Matin Durrani who is also the Editor of Physics World said: "The Imperial science pub quiz is always a good night out but it was extra special this time as the Physics World team won! I also think the quiz is a clever way to get journalists to meet academics and to get both sides having a bit of fun together at the same time."
