Chemical engineering staff recognised for excellence in research

Jason Hallett, Professor of Sustainable Chemical Technology

Staff in Chemical Engineering have been recognised with President's Awards for excellence in research.

Patricia Carry and Professor Jason Hallett are among recipients of the President's Awards for Excellence in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

The awards are given each year to recognise staff who have made exceptional contributions within each category: Culture and CommunityEducationResearch, and Societal Engagement 

Patricia Carry, Head of Analytical Services in the Department of Chemical Engineering, won the President's Award for Research Support Excellence (Technical).

Her award citation read: "Patricia is greatly valued by everyone she supports and is commended for her personal dedication that goes beyond expectation." 

Jason Hallett, Professor of Sustainable Chemical Technology, received the President's Award for Research Excellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

His award recognises his "intellectual curiosity, academic leadership and dedication to derive real-world impact from his academic research".

The awards were announced at a virtual event in lieu of the usual Garden Party at the South Kensington campus, where President Alice Gast thanked the President’s Ambassadors, and congratulated students who received Union Awards and colours, and the Garden Party nominees.
