Kickstarting a career in publishing is a formidable challenge - the myriad of courses and advice on offer is often conflicting. This session is for those just starting or early on in their careers, and seeks to address issues including:

  • What is the value of the many entry routes into publishing - work experience, graduate schemes and publishing MA's
  • Once you're ‘in', how do you make the most of your job and progress?
  • How is the recession going to affect those who hope for a speedy trip up the career ladder?

Our expert panel of speakers will pour their vast experience and advice into this essential discussion for anyone serious about getting ahead in UK publishing.

9.00-9.30: Publishing recruitment consultants will be on hand to give information and advice on CVs and careers in publishing -
