UG Project 2024/25: Dynamics by Design

We’re pleased to share that our undergraduate project group has successfully completed their 2024/25 project, Dynamics by Design. Their work explores a novel approach to tuning DNA strand displacement reaction rates by introducing base-pair mismatches into toehold regions. Using a modular design and in silico tools like NUPACK, they created a comprehensive database of toehold variants spanning a wide range of kinetics. This work helps overcome modelling limitations and adds a valuable tool to the molecular programming toolkit.
