VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Imperial College London has started a study investigating the brain modification abilities of electrical stimulation and psychedelics. For this study, we seek:

HEALTHY VOLUNTEERS (18-65 years old)

Who are proficient in English, and who do not have a history of psychiatric, neurological or cardiovascular disorders, chronic physical illness and who are not currently taking psychotropic medication.

What is expected?

  • First, you will need to pass an in-person screening assessment (2 hours).
  • Following this, you will attend the site on 3 occasions, where you will have 3 dosing sessions that will include any 3 of the following intravenous administrations: ketamine (microdose), ketamine (moderate-high dose), N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (microdose), N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (moderate-high dose) or placebo. You will undergo brain stimulation afterwards. You will also be asked to fill out questionnaires. The dosing visits will last approximately 6-8 hours.
  • You will be asked to wear a cap during the day so we can measure brain activity.
  • 2 weeks after completing the last dosing session, you will be asked to complete questionnaires at home.

How long does the study take?

In total, approximately 8 weeks, with one in-person screening and 3 in-person study visits.

You receive?

Reimbursement of £50/study visit or £50 shopping voucher/visit and travel expenses up to £20/visit (this may be increased if a taxi is required). You will receive £50 if you are screened but not eligible for the study
