Welcome to Wilson
Hi - welcome to Wilson! Set across 22 interconnected Victorian period houses with a new, purpose built residential block to the rear, Wilson House is your home in the heart of London. It is situated just a few minutes away from Paddington station, the restaurants and bars of Paddington Basin, as well as a quick walk to Hyde Park. You're within a few minutes of our St Mary's campus and around 15-25 minutes from South Kensington.
Wilson House is named after Charles Wilson, 1st Baron Moran, who was the Dean of St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School (now part of the College). Charles Wilson was also famous for being Sir Winston Churchill’s personal physician.

Luke
About Luke
Hi there! My name is Luke and I am a Research Associate in the Centre for Higher Education Research and Scholarship. My ‘day job’ researching education isn’t a million miles away from my work in halls – I’m all about improving the lives of students! I was at one point an Imperial Fresher like yourselves having studied BSc Geology and can safely say that you’re joining an outstanding institution, including one of the best Imperial halls located on the doorstep of Hyde Park. My only advice to you is to make the most of what Imperial and London can offer.
Outside of work, I’ve always been physically active having played sports like basketball and badminton. I’m very close with my family and friends, which means I also understand the challenges associated with moving away from home to attend university. I therefore see my role as Warden as leading our incredibly capable team of Hall Seniors and Subwardens to help you get the best out of your first year socially and academically. Don’t be afraid to get involved with everything here at Wilson House and to reach out to our team in future. I’m looking forward to the year ahead and to meeting you!

About Paul
My name is Paul, and I am the Assistant Warden here at Wilson. I first joined Imperial over 10 years ago as a Physics undergraduate, stayed on for a PhD in the same department, and now work as a Research Associate in Particle Physics. Having spent so much time here, I’ve seen Imperial from many different sides, and I know both how exciting and how challenging the experience can be. I’m looking forward to helping you get the best out of their time here, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you ever want advice or just a chat!Wilson is a warm and welcoming community, just a short walk across Hyde Park to South Kensington, and I’m sure you’ll make plenty of memories here. I look forward to meeting you properly in the following weeks. Until then, enjoy the start of this new chapter and remember, we’re here to support you! -

Maria
About Maria
I am a PhD student in Immunology at the Hammersmith Hospital Campus, where I study how our metabolism affects our immune system (and I am very happy to tell you all about it if you are ever curious!). Outside of work I love keeping active, and I will happily try any sport that gets me moving, but volleyball is my main one, having grown up playing it.

About Diana
Hi, my name is Diana, one of the Subwardens here at Wilson! I am a 2nd year PhD student in BioDesign Engineering. I am researching ways in which we can produce valuable chemicals from invasive seaweed, as a more sustainable way to produce key industrial chemicals. I am Mozambican Portuguese but did my undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh. London is a fantastic city to be in, so many exhibitions, shows, museums to see, and so many different restaurants and foods to try. Be open to trying new things and meeting new people. Here’s to a fulfilling year of new experiences and memories. 🌟 -
Patrick
About Patrick
I joined Imperial as an undergrad back in 2021 for my MEng Civil and Environmental Engineering, and I am now a second-year PhD student in Mathematics for our Future Climate CDT. I first joined Wilson House in 2022. I’m originally from the glorious north-east of England, but I have lived in almost all corners of the globe, most recently in Australia. I am a passionate triathlete, so you’ll usually find me running laps of Hyde Park, on my bike, or doing lengths at the Ethos swimming pool or in the Serpentine Lake!

Maryam
About Maryam
Hi, I’m Maryam! I’m a second-year PhD student working on AI-based solvers for large-scale optimisation problems in power systems and electricity markets. I also did my undergraduate degree in Design Engineering at Imperial. I lived in Woodward Hall in my first year and then spent three years as a Hall Senior in Kemp Porter, so I’ve had quite a bit of experience studying at Imperial and living in halls. I’ve always really enjoyed the social side of living in halls and taking part in the events, so I’d definitely recommend getting involved and making the most of everything on offer. Outside of my PhD, I enjoy travelling, going for walks in nature and going to the theatre. I hope you have an exciting time at Imperial, full of learning, new experiences and good memories!

About Geoff
My name is Geoff. I’m a fourth-year PhD student in Physics, where I study clouds (mostly wet ones, but I use computer clouds too) and their impact on the climate. Outside of research, I enjoy unwinding by going for a run in Hyde Park, playing tennis and playing the guitar.
