This course gives an introduction to Imperial College London Library resources and information services designed specifically for first year research students. Key areas covered include:
- How to locate and access information resources using the library search and other search tools
- Specialist databases for different literature types
- Accessing electronic journals including Open Access journals
- How to get help and support from library staff
- How to get materials from outside the Imperial collections
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this workshop you will be able to:
- Identify the best sources of information for research needs
- Employ effective search techniques.
- Develop an ability to find the best quality information for your research.
- Assess the quality of information they retrieve during your research.
