We are committed to providing world-class support that enables our students to thrive – both within and beyond their studies as members of the broad and diverse Imperial community. By focusing on getting the fundamentals right, we ensure that every student benefits from a seamless, high-quality experience from application through to graduation and beyond.
We will attract and retain the highest-calibre learners from all backgrounds, deliver integrated digital and in-person student services, actively support student mental health and wellbeing, and create a world-class, digitally enabled experience for applicants, students, and alumni.
Imperial’s Science for Humanity strategy sets out our goal that the Imperial Class of 2030 will be the most talented, the most enterprising and the most diverse we have ever had the privilege to serve. The Learning and Teaching Strategy sets out our institution-wide approach to development in education, which is complemented by the Imperial Experience project which aims to deliver a holistic student experience from pre-application to post-graduation.
Our goal is to provide every student with an inspiring, tailored, and supportive journey – one that continues long after their time at Imperial, as they remain part of our global alumni community.
Attract and retain the highest calibre learners from across the world regardless of background
Our ambition is to deliver an exceptional, welcoming and inclusive pre-enrolment experience, through every interaction, from the point of enquiry through to enrolment.
We aim to provide a seamless experience across all pre-enrolment interactions without any compromises in quality, whilst keeping students at the heart of everything we do. Our focus is on applicant experience and diversifying of our application pool in the UK and across the world, with technology being a key enabler of these priorities.
Deliver integrated digital and in-person student-facing services
Our student-facing services initiative is informed by service users and providers to understand the depth and breadth of student requests, enquiries and how they are managed.
We will design and implement a service delivery model for students at multiple campuses, through both physical and remote/digital access points. This includes delivering immediate improvements to spaces for student services at South Kensington, whilst developing our long-term plans for growth at White City and services at all campuses.
Actively support student mental health and wellbeing
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy outlines our goals for creating an inclusive, respectful and compassionate environment that supports our students and staff in their work and study.
Deliver a world class digitally enabled experience for applicants, students and alumni
One of our strategic change programmes, the Student Lifecycle Portfolio is a programme of work with ambitious goals – to deliver a world-class, seamless digital student experience from initial enquiry through to lifelong involvement, embodying Imperial's reputation as a leading STEMB university and advancing its strategic aims.
