Committee remit and terms of reference

1. To inform Imperial’s community of external influences on the development of research and enterprise.
2. To formulate, review, and recommend to UMB institutional positions and policies relevant to research, including reports, concordats and consultations.
3. To formulate, review, and recommend to UMB institutional positions and policies relevant to enterprise activities.
4. To oversee the research and enterprise focus of the University’s Strategy.
5. To oversee and review major national and international research and enterprise partnerships.
6. To oversee stakeholder relationships, including those with the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), learned societies, government, relevant industry and funder stakeholders.
7. To oversee the University’s research infrastructure, including large-scale multi-user research facilities.
8. To promote the generation of impact from the University’s research and to develop approaches to maximise and quantify that impact.
9. To oversee the University’s support for multidisciplinary working, including Networks, Centres and our Convergence Science Initiative. 
10. To oversee the University’s professional development support for early career researchers.

11. To oversee the College’s University’s research computing services.
