We still expect you to wear a face covering in most indoor settings on campus, including during teaching sessions and in our libraries, unless you are exempt.

This measure will reduce the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19, protecting students and staff from becoming sick or needing to self-isolate with the disruption this causes to work and study.

In laboratory areas, the requirement for personal protective equipment (PPE) will be dictated by the specific risk assessment dependent upon the nature of the work being undertaken and the local facilities. You should follow safety guidelines agreed with your manager and head of department in addition to our College-wide measures.

Face coverings should be worn when moving around buildings (including halls of residence) but can be removed while seated in office areas for prolonged periods, providing the space has good ventilation and is being used with reduced capacity, subject to local risk assessments.

If you cannot wear a face covering

Some people will be exempt from wearing a face covering due to a physical or mental illness or disability. If you are exempt, please visit the Hidden Disabilities webpage (log in required).
