Crystallography service
Anyone interested in submitting a sample, or being trained to run their own, should contact the Crystallography Service Manager, Dr Andrew J.P. White (a.white@imperial.ac.uk).
The service uses a modern, rapid, Rigaku Synergy-i diffractometer with Cu-K⍺ radiation and a low temperature device capable of reaching ca. 100 K.
Charges
Crystallography charges a £400 per sample "flat" rate for all service samples and £350 per sample for user samples i.e. DIY crystals.
Samples that make it to the diffractometer but not to a full data collection are charged at £50. This includes the "what is this?" feature that can provide a relatively quick, low resolution, un-publishable, structure determination.
For any queries regarding charging please contact the facility manager.
