The Department Equality, Diversity and Departmental Culture (EDDC) committee is committed to fostering a positive working culture.  The EDDC committee is responsible for the Department’s Athena Swan Bronze Award application and is implementing an action plan aimed at achieving this award.

The committee’s remit is:

  1. To oversee the implementation of the action plan submitted as part of the 2017 application for a Bronze Athena Swan Award.
  2. To prepare a successful submission for a Silver Athena Swan Award in 2021.
  3. To coordinate the bi-annual Athena Swan Departmental survey.
  4. To consider and raise awareness of college level and faculty level activities to promote equality and diversity.
  5. To promote awareness of good practice in supporting equality and diversity in the Department.
