Project Title: Ultrasound modulation of neuronal health and synaptic plasticity to mitigate cognitive decline in ageing
Supervisor: Dr Sophie Morse, Dr Samuel Barnes
Location: Level 3, Bessemer Building, South Kensington, Imperial College London, Exhibition Road, London SW7 2AZ
About Me
I am a PhD student in Dr Sophie Morse’s lab within the UK Dementia Research Institute Centre at Imperial College London, co-supervised by Dr Sam Barnes in the Department of Brain Sciences. My research investigates how focused ultrasound can support neuronal health and synaptic plasticity during ageing. I aim to understand how this non-invasive approach could help maintain brain function and slow down the processes underlying cognitive decline.
