About Me
I am a PhD student in the Mallach laboratory in the Department of Brain Sciences within the UK Dementia Research Institute centre at Imperial College London. My project is focussed on investigating the role of microglial autophagy dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s disease dementia. The Autophagy system plays a key role in mitochondrial health, phagocytic activity, and the inflammatory response in microglia, but research on the role of autophagy in PD has so far focussed on neurons, I aim to investigate the way autophagy effects microglia specifically.
In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing and writing short fiction.
