This course has been designed to highlight the importance of knowing your audience and your purpose before designing a presentation. You will learn how to structure a presentation and communicate your message clearly using various tools and techniques. You will also watch examples of effective and ineffective presentations and provide constructive feedback. Other topics on demonstrating positive body language and how to respond to questions will also be covered.
This course is open to Research Degree Students, MRes, Postdocs & Research Fellows.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course you will be able to:
- Identify the audience, purpose, and appropriate presentation tools and techniques to communicate a message effectively.
- Identify effective presentation practices by analysing presentation structure, slide design, and speaker delivery.
- Demonstrate positive body language and respond to questions effectively.
