Congratulations to Mr Donald Chui, who graduated with a BEng in Computing in July 2026, on receiving the Department of Computing’s “UTA of the Year” Award for the 2025/26 academic year.
Based on student comments from the past academic year, Donald has been highly approachable, supportive, and responsible, consistently providing clear explanations, high-quality advice, and helpful feedback on code and tutorial work. Students have valued his willingness to help both during and outside scheduled sessions, his prompt responses on EdStem, his excellent lab support for "Computing Practical 1", and his engaging and inclusive approach to teaching. He has been regarded as an excellent tutor across "Discrete Mathematics, Logic & Reasoning" and "Graphs and Algorithms", with a positive attitude that has encouraged students and supported their learning and performance. Students have also appreciated his involvement in the wider Computing and DoCSoc community, with some describing him as someone they look up to and aspire to emulate.
