Empty chemical drums can be recycled by VWR. Drums must be empty and have their tops removed. The drums should be placed upside down to ensure that rain water does not enter the drum and cause doubt as to what the contents are.

Where do I put empty chemical drums?
  • Chemical drums can be left on the Chemistry loading bay or in the container in Bone courtyard.
    • Empty
    • Lids removed
    • Placed upside down

Who removes them?

  • VWR will recycle these.

What happens then?

  • The metal is recycled.

How green is this waste stream?

  • All drums are recycled
