About the Speaker


Dr Aubrey Cunnington is a Clinician Scientist specialised in Paediatric Infectious Disease and Immunology.

He leads an interdisciplinary translational research group studying host-pathogen interactions in severe infections, focussing on malaria in particular.

His interest in malaria started as a medical student on elective in Kilifi, Kenya, and persisted through his PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and his Clinician Scientist Fellowship at Imperial College.

He is currently co-director of the Imperial College Network of Excellence in Malaria, and also coordinates a pan-London Malaria Network.
