Dr. Alexandre De Figueiredo is an EPSRC prize fellow. They are interested in finding mathematical solutions to complex issues in vaccinations and public health. Specifically, they are interested in: spatio-temporal forecasts of national and regional vaccine coverage rates; developing latent variable models for the large-scale inference of individuals’ vaccination views; estimating disease burdens associated with increases in vaccine hesitancy (and declining coverage); and, determining socio-economic correlates of vaccine coverage and hesitancy.
