Gary McLean

Please join the Department of Infectious Disease for a lecture from Professor Gary McLean, Director of the Cellular Molecular and Immunology Research Centre at London Met.

Gary McLean is an academic research scientist with over 25 years of experience in infectious disease immunology with a particular emphasis on monoclonal antibody generation and recombinant antibody expression. His scientific training has led him from New Zealand to Canada where he produced and used monoclonal antibodies for cancer therapy and to understand immune repertoires; New York where he studied antibody gene diversification mechanisms; and Texas where he continued studies using monoclonal antibodies as antiviral agents. He is currently based in London UK where his research focuses on antibody guided rational vaccine design for human viruses.

The lecture will run for 40 minutes and be followed by a Q&A for 20 minutes.
