Approximately 15,000 people in the UK have sickle cell disorder (SCD) and each year approximately 350 babies are born with SCD in the UK.
On Thursday 31st October, Dr Fédéric Piel from Imperial College Medical School and John James OBE from the Sickle Cell Society will give a talk entitled ‘The Colour of Pain: the facts and the feelings’’. The talk will focus on Sickle Cell Disorder. So common a condition, such a painful and destructive disease and yet largely unknown to the public.
