About the Team

We are teaming up with second-hand clothing charity, Traid, to set up clothing donation bins around South Kensington and White City Campuses. We are also planning a Clothes Swap event in March where attendees can purchase pre-loved clothing for just £1, or for free with a donation. Lastly, in June we will be hosting a repair & upcycling workshop at the Great Exhibition Road Festival—details below!

Clothes Swap

This year our Clothes Swap event will be hosted in March on South Kensington Campus. Leading up to the event, we will have clothing donation bins around campus. If you donate clothes in the bins, you can get free items at the Clothes Swap event, otherwise just turn up and enjoy a wide selection of second-hand clothing for just £1!  All clothing donated and left over from the Swap with be given to our charity partner, Traid.

At last year's clothes swap event, 113 items were donated, 70 items exchanged, and 26 items were bought in our final hour pound shop! We received really positive feedback and attendees were keen for more regular clothes swap events on campus.

Repair & Upcycling Workshop

We are planning to host a Repair & Upcycling Workshop at this year's Great Exhibition Road Festival in June, 2023.  Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and practice several stitching techniques to repair their own clothes and will also learn about some of the key challenges for sustainability in the fashion industry.

We would like to thank all our collaborators for their support, and everyone for attending our past events and looking forward to this year's!
