• All expertise levels are welcome
  • Practical training is mandatory for first-time users of the facility, adjusted according to previous flow cytometry experience
  • Analysis equipment is self-use after training
  • Cell sorting is primarily performed by facility staff but some users can be trained on the FACSMelody sorter
  • After initial training, facility staff can provide assistance with experiment design, troubleshooting, and data analysis

Course: Introduction to flow cytometry

The Hammersmith Flow Cytometry Facility offers free "Introduction to Flow Cytometry" sessions. This in-person classroom-style 3 hour course provides a general overview of conventional and spectral flow cytometry. Each session will have only 8 to 12 participants to better allow for questions and discussions.

This theory course is not mandatory for first-time users of the facility, but it's recommended to complement the mandatory practical training. It's suitable for both beginner and intermediate users.

Compensation and spectral unmixing
Panel design and controls
Data analysis
Instrument setup
Fluorescent stains
Links to further educational resources

New sessions are scheduled ad hoc, based on user interest. Please contact facility staff to be added to the course waiting list.
