Postgraduate Student Handbook
Autumn term 2020-21
This student handbook is designed to assist you as enter the Physics Department at Imperial College as taught masters student. It contains some important information about rules, regulations and services and links to key areas of our website; including the structure of how our courses will begin on schedule in Autumn and we look forward to seeing students in person, if travel and visa arrangements allow. Teaching will be a combination of on-campus (in-person) and remote learning (online). This ‘multi-mode’ offering may be subject to change. We will do our best to provide increased on-campus teaching and research activities as we progress throughout the year.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Physics will not be able to offer all of its services as stated in the Student Handbook. For example, there will be fewer staff in the Blackett Laboratory with the others working remotely and some rooms might be closed off to students. To ensure each programme of study can be delivered safely, we'll be making some changes to our courses for 2020-21. Read about the changes to our undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses, and to MRes and PhD courses.
