As part of the College’s ESRC Impact Acceleration Account, the College is inviting applications for Knowledge Exchange Secondments. The primary aim of the scheme is to help ensure the exploitation of the research funded by EPSRC at Imperial College and to help ensure that expertise/know-how are delivered in a timely and effect manner to those who can best exploit it. The scheme operates on the principle that the best way to transfer knowledge is through people, facilitating the movement of skilled people both into and out of Imperial College.

Secondments are typically expected to be between four weeks and three months in duration. It is not necessary that the impact activities proposed relate specifically to individual research projects or studentships previously funded by ESRC, nor do individuals need to have been supported by ESRC in the past. However, supported activities must be able to demonstrate how they will create impact from social science research that has been conducted within the remit of ESRC. For further information on the remit of ESRC please see http://www.esrc.ac.uk/about-esrc/what-is-social-science/ or discuss with named to contacts if you are unclear about whether the fundamental research on which the impact activity will be based was in ESRC remit.

We are inviting proposals for secondments of up to three months in duration in two key areas of interest:

Data Analytics

Energy use in Business
