Hi! I'm Ronak, a second-year medical student with a love for exploring new skills outside of my academic focuses. As a current fellow of Imperial's Blyth Gallery, I'm very interested in exploring new mediums. As I work on learning about tools and techniques in digital art, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to create characters for our student community here at the College. I strive to represent the best of our student experience with my illustrations and enjoy collaborating with other artists and animators to manifest this vision.

Hi, My name is Ilmi and I'm excited to go into my 4th year for Chemistry MSci, specializing in plant and photosynthetic analysis. I stumbled across this StudentShapers project after discovering its focus on inclusion and accessibility, which deeply resonated with me. As part of the team, I helped create the character Amara, a story inspired by my own personal experiences, navigating the challenges of securing a Year in Industry or not! This project became a creative outlet where I could blend storytelling with collaboration, using art and shared experiences to support other students. While I'm not a professional artist, I hope you can enjoy what this project represents. I’m excited to carry forward this inclusive, creative, and collaborative approach in future work and I hope it inspires others to do the same.
StudentShapers
We will be working with StudentShapers throughout the AIP project. See below for infomation on past and current projects.
- Inclusivity Audit for teaching and learning. This project aimed to create a framework for reviewing content to find areas where AIPs can be most usefully deployed. This project has now been completed and an audit process is available for use across the college. Please email if you would like further information.
- Pre-sessional maths catalogue. This project ran during the summer break 2024. Students carried out an audit of materials available from across the web to help with first year maths. They then developed a catalogue and a set of Animated Inclusive Personae to deliver this information in an inclusive and accessible way. The pilot version of this catalogue, and more information on the team that created it can be found on the Introductory Maths Catalogue pages.
- Accessible Student Communications. This new project will be looking at how policy is communicated to students and exploring ways of using AIPs to help deliver policy related content in a more inclusive way.
