This is a drop-in event which will demonstrate various tools and technologies currently in use at the College, including the following:
- AV equipment including visualisers and Smart Podium
- Reading Lists – a new tool being introduced by Library Services in 2016
- Starfish – an online tutor feedback system
- Lynda.com – provider of high quality instructional videos for staff and students, where you can teach yourself how to use the latest version of software packages in a wide range of creative and business-related subjects
- Piazza – a web-based question and answer tool. Using customisable online polls, a wiki-type format and instructor endorsements, members of staff can facilitate student Q&A sessions and discussions
- Mobile learning – demonstrated by the Faculty of Medicine Learning Technology team
- Qualtrics – a centrally supported online survey system, demonstrated by the Faculty of Medicine
- PeerWise – an online system which supports students in the creation, sharing, evaluation and discussion of assessment questions
- Box of Broadcasts – using broadcast radio and TV material to enhance teaching and learning
- Maple TA – an online assessment tool designed especially for courses involving mathematics
- Peermark – a tool within Turnitin that allows students to read, review and evaluated papers submitted by their classmates
- Quicktech – a service from Imperial Innovations that offers a simple way to commercialise research tools and materials
- Mentimeter – an easy to use, online tool which can be used for in-class quizzes enabling a class to share their opinions in a few seconds
- Web PA – an online peer assessment tool that enables every team member to score individual contributions to group work
- The Business School’s Edtech Lab showcases the tools and technologies used to develop the Global Online MBA and shares results of a pilot of online business modules for undergraduate students
