Electrolysers and Fuel Cells are promising candidates for clean and efficient electricity generation and chemical production, respectively. However, electrochemical reactions in these devices have underlying issues such as sluggish kinetics.

As part of the ESE group, the Titirici group at the Department of Chemical Engineering aims to bridge the gap between material supply and renewable energy. They work on providing inexpensive and sustainable ways to store electricity in chemical bonds, provide electricity on-demand and produce useful chemical intermediates. A full list of the electrocatalysis projects in the Titirici group can be found here.
