If you have a serious problem affecting your performance on your I-Explore or Horizons module, including coursework and examinations, you must ensure that you inform your Personal Tutor, your Senior Tutor, and your I-Explore / Horizons module lead as soon as possible.

A wide variety of things can be considered in mitigation, from health issues (physical or mental, acute or chronic) to bereavement or financial hardship.

If these circumstances affect your performance in examinations or other assessments, you should submit a mitigating circumstances form to your own department within 10 working days or 14 calendar days of the assessment or coursework submission deadline. Note that the form must be supported by appropriate documentation.

If a problem arises on the day of an assessment, please contact both your Senior Tutor and your I-Explore / Horizons module lead immediately. They will advise you how to proceed.

Students taking a BPES module as part of I-Explore should refer to the guidance on the Hub

In the event that you require a coursework extension due to unforeseen circumstances outside of your control, you may not need to submit a mitigating circumstances form. Please visit the Coursework Extensions page and follow the process described there.
