Training overview
This online e-learning course has been provided by the National Autistic Society, and covers:
- The current thinking around autism and identify the main areas of difference
- Increases awareness of the challenges autistic staff may experience in the workplace and why
- Recognise potential causes of anxiety for autistic staff in the workplace
- Helps identify and implement workplace adjustments that can be used to support autistic colleagues
Who is this course for?
This e-learning course is open to all staff. It is particularly aimed at those working alongside or managing autistic colleagues including managers, supervisors, HR staff, colleagues and workplace mentors.
No previous knowledge of autism is required.
Key information
This e-learning course is divided into three sections:
- Pre-assessment - Where we test your knowledge
- Main learning module
- Final assessment
We would suggest allowing for up to two hours to complete this course.
How to access the course
You can complete this e-learning course at a time best for you.
- Go to Blackboard Learn, enter your Imperial username and password and click Login
- Select Courses (left hand menu)
- Select Course Catalogue (located in the top right)
- Search for 'Autism in the workplace' in the search catalogue field and click Go
- Hover over the Course ID, select the drop down button (grey circle with white arrow), then select Enrol
- Select Submit (bottom right) to self-enrol on the course
- Select OK (bottom right) to continue directly to the course
- Select 'Start - Pre module assessment' to begin.
- Once you have completed this pre-assessment, you will be brought back to the Blackboard main page to continue with the 'Autism in the workplace main learning module'
- Once you have completed the main module, you can access and complete the 'Final assessment' module
- If you achieve a pass mark of 80% or more, you will then be able to download an e-certificate where you can enter your name and completion date.
Need to cancel your training booking?
