Catering Orders on Graduation Days

Graduations are the highlight of the Imperial year, where friends, families and academic staff come together at our South Kensington Campus and the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students.

Two graduation days are held each year. Commemoration Day is held in October, while Postgraduate Graduation takes place in May. The ceremonies on Commemoration Day and Postgraduate Graduation take place at the Royal Albert Hall, where they have been celebrated for more than 60 years. After the ceremonies graduates and their guests can attend the departmental receptions on the South Kensington Campus thereafter.

 The Catering and Events team play a vital role in delivering the departmental receptions on Campus and as these events grow in size and expectations, our job is key in ensuring their success, and ensuring our graduates and their families experience the best the College can provide. 

In order to give these special College events our undivided attention, we can no longer take any other catering orders on Graduation days. 

Unfortunately, our online Rooms and Catering booking site will still allow catering orders for these dates. But we ask that you bear this new service exception in mind when planning and booking events in May and October. Our Internal Bookings team will sadly have no choice but to cancel any orders placed online for Graduation days for any unrelated events - they will be in touch in these instances.
