About Us
Healthcare scientists make a real difference to patients every day. They are involved in 80% of all clinical decisions in the NHS and in developing some of the most amazing clinical and technological advancements. And the best part? You could be one of them. The NHS Scientist Training Programme (STP) is a three year training programme that includes work-based and academic learning leading to a Masters degree. Graduates are recruited into specialisms in one of 4 areas:
- clinical bioinformatics (including genomics, physical sciences and health informaticlife sciences (including clinical biochemistry, genomics, reproductive science, microbiology and immunology)
- physical sciences and biomedical engineering (medical physics, clinical engineering physiological sciences (including audiology, neurophysiology, respiratory and sleep science)

Note: Applicants must have/expect a 1st/2:1 in a pure or applied science subject relevant to the specialism to which they are applying although applicants with a 2:2 will be considered if they have a higher degree relevant to their chosen specialism.
