Extreme Performance Tuning: Reducing Latency and Jitter on Intel CPU
A detailed look at tuning Intel CPUs and Linux for low latency. Dan will cover preparing and configuring the CPU, defining cache policies, trimming the fat from the Linux kernel, and designing code to work in harmony with hardware. Much of the tuning methods will be familiar to PC gamers, who share many of the same tuning goals that we use to make our servers perform optimally
Dan Beimborn has over 25 years of experience working with high-performance computing. His PC gaming hobby fuelled his interest in CPU tuning, which soon found an application in his professional career. Dan is Director of Quantitative Technology at Qube Research and Technologies, where he contributes to the smooth operation and high-performance computing systems required for electronic trading.
