We are incredibly proud that the Early Years Education Centre team has received the Imperial College President’s Award for Excellence in Culture, Community, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
The team’s actions epitomise the excellence, values and impact Imperial is known for.
This award is a significant recognition of our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment for every child and family. It celebrates the team’s outstanding dedication to promoting equality and inclusion throughout the nursery.
The President commended the team for:
Working tirelessly to create a truly inclusive environment and address particularly difficult challenges and barriers to support children with disabilities.
At Early Years, we have a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team with a wide range of skills and experience. They work closely with families and external professionals to ensure children with varying needs receive the right support to thrive.
This includes:
- Supporting children with diagnosed conditions such as Down Syndrome and Autism
- Providing tailored help for communication, sensory, physical, cognitive, and social development
- Caring for children with medical needs, including severe allergies and diabetes
We’re committed to ensuring that every child feels valued, included, and able to flourish in our care.
