Looking at some evaluation approaches used across three different faculties, we can find approaches in common:

  • A need for planned timelines of activity, to ensure elements are ready ahead of time and can be run concurrently in an organised fashion.
  • Preparation and planning ahead of the iteration, e.g to ensure that resources are in place, that success measures have been agreed and surveys are ready.
  • Data gathering may involve surveys and system usage data, and may have varying timelines e.g. mid-term vs end of term surveys.
  • The need to engage key stakeholders in planning and gathering feedback, as well as communicating lessons learned - be they teaching staff, students, EdTech, administrators, examiners, ICT etc.
  • Using feedback and lessons learned to improve the next iteration.
