Opening Hours:
The space will be open to all staff and visitors from 09.00 – 16.30 on Monday – Friday, accessible via your Imperial ID.

Please keep in mind when using 170 Staff Lounge that it is a shared environment. Be respectful of the spaces and your colleagues and leave all rooms in the same condition that you found them.
A dedicated member of staff will be on hand at all times to answer any questions and to facilitate your enjoyment.

After extensive refurbishment work, our Grade II-listed building 170 Queens Gate will be open to Imperial staff from 15th October onwards. We’d love to invite you to enjoy this historic space and to add a unique backdrop to your next meeting, catch-up or coffee break.
Catering and refreshments
Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and water which will be available in the Solar Room and on level 1. Drinks can also be carried to level 2 using reusable cups. Please use the lids provided to avoid spillages on the stairs and throughout the building.
Light catering will be available to purchase (cashless payment) from our dedicated host in the Solar Room on a self-service basis. Consuming hot food brought onto the premises is not permitted. All food and drinks served must be consumed on the premises and can be disposed of using the trays provided.
Spaces and access
The Solar Room and adjoining garden, and meeting spaces on level 1 and 2 are exclusively available for staff and their guests to enjoy. All spaces can be accessed using your Imperial ID. Please note, this is a shared space and events may take place within the Council Room and Drawing Room throughout this time. Guests must be accompanied by an Imperial staff member at all times.

Ground floor: Solar Room
24 max capacity
No booking required - used on a first-come, first-served basis.
Includes use of the beautiful, adjoining walled garden.
Level 1: Meeting space
40 max capacity
No booking required - used on a first-come, first-served basis.
Level 2: Meeting spaces
4 - 12 max capacity
No booking required - used on a first-come, first-served basis.
You are kindly asked not to occupy rooms for more than 90 minutes.
Important information
Due to its Grade-II listed status, 170 Queen’s Gate is not currently accessible. Applications for the necessary planning permissions are in progress. Approval is expected in January 2025 and it is our ambition to make the building accessible by summer 2025. Additionally, we are working closely with the Able@Imperial Staff Network to identify other facilities that do not currently meet the needs of all staff. Steps will be taken to address any concerns raised and we will work together to ensure our campuses are more accessible.
Weekly Test is completed on Mondays at 0845. Evacuation point is F.
