Colectomy Simulator
In collaboration with SiMPEDIA, an Imperial College London spinout, the Skills Programme has developed a highly realistic colectomy simulator for ST5 and ST6 colorectal trainees.
Designed with expert input from educationalists and experienced general surgeons, the model features anatomically accurate bowel layers, a mesentery with blood-filled vessels, and full compatibility with both suture and stapling devices. These details create a high-fidelity training tool that replicates the complexity of real surgical practice while providing a safe and repeatable learning environment.
