At Imperial, we believe that access to safe, secure and affordable accommodation is an essential part of attracting and retaining the talented people who make our world-changing work possible.

By providing Key Worker Accommodation close to our campuses, Imperial helps colleagues to live and work in London while reducing the pressures and costs associated with living in the capital. Our Key Worker Accommodation supports a diverse and inclusive community and strengthens our ability to deliver world-leading research, education and innovation.

Imperial is proud to offer over 300 key worker beds across White City and North Acton, but demand from our eligible colleagues continues to exceed the homes we can offer, and we recognise that London’s housing pressures make it increasingly difficult for essential workers to live close to where they work.

The Greater London Authority also recognise this challenge through Key Worker Living Rent. Imperial welcomes the recognition of key worker housing as an important part of London’s future and will continue to play its part in supporting affordable, high-quality accommodation for its staff.

Key worker housing is absolutely crucial to attract the talent that we need to work on our groundbreaking research and teach in our facilities. We know how difficult it can be and perhaps how brave you need to be to move to a city so this is about providing a safe and affordable place to start your career at Imperial.
