Why it's important

Using student card to get a laptop

Your identity card is a key feature of life at the College.

It has a number of very important functions:

  • Access to your department and your hall of residence
  • Membership of the Library and the sports centre
  • Discounts on-campus catering and locations across London
  • Security – it tells us who people are and helps us to keep everyone safe

Lost your card?

Report this as soon as possible to the Security Office.

Find them on Level 1 of the Sherfield Building at our South Kensington Campus.

Student ID information

Collect your ID (living in Halls)

If you need to upload an ID photo as part of your enrolment process on the student portal, you should do this before your course start date.

If you have completed this process in sufficient time, your photo College ID card will be ready to collect from your hall shortly before the start of term. If you do not upload an ID photo or if you arrive before the start of term, you will be issued with a temporary card in order to access your hall.

This temporary card is only valid for a limited time. You should upload an ID photo on the student portal as soon as you can. If you fail to upload a photo in time,  you must obtain a full College ID card from the ID Card Office. Find this on Level 1 of the Sherfield Building, next to the HSBC cash machine. Here you will have your picture taken.

If you are unable to upload a required photo ID, please contact the ID Card Office to make alternative arrangements.
