Overall purpose and remit 

Reporting to the SMO Monthly, the Initiative Lead Meeting (ILM) is held termly, in-person, on campus.  

Designed to support initiative leads to deliver their objectives, the ILM provides a forum to review high-level progress, identify risks and barriers to delivery—including financial and non-financial resource constraints—and share knowledge and best practice.   

Information gathered during these meetings enable the SMO to provide regular and accurate status updates to the University Management Board (UMB), and Council, as appropriate, including seeking decisions or approvals where required.

At programme level 

  1. Review and update rag ratings, level 1 KPIs, financials and other resource constraints and achievements.   

For each initiative 

  1. Consider a status update     
  2. Discuss identified risks and barriers and agree next steps for support and intervention, including establishing Ad hoc Initiative Trouble-shooters, where appropriate. 
  3. Discuss opportunities for collaboration across the initiatives and next steps to support this. 
  4. Make decisions which do not require UMB approval and identify decisions needed from UMB.
